The investment seeks to track the investment results of the MSCI Emerging Markets ex China Index (the "underlying index"). The fund generally will invest at least 80% of its assets in the component securities of the index and in investments that have economic characteristics that are substantially identical to the component securities of its index and may invest up to 20% of its assets in certain futures, options and swap contracts, cash and cash equivalents. The index is a free float-adjusted market capitalization weighted index that captures large- and mid-capitalization stocks across 25 of the 26 Emerging Markets countries, excluding China.

The fund utilizes a dynamic asset allocation approach and seeks to invest in multiple fixed-income sectors in the global credit markets, including corporate debt, mortgage-related and other asset-backed securities, government and sovereign debt, taxable municipal bonds and other fixed, variable and floating rate income producing securities. It benchmarks the performance of its portfolio against a combined benchmark comprised of 80% Barclays Investment Grade Index and 20% BofA High Yield Index. The fund was formerly known as PIMCO Dynamic Credit Income Fund. PIMCO Dynamic Credit and Mortgage Income Fund was formed on January 31, 2013 and is domiciled in the United States.
