Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On February 1, 2023, Nicola Heffron, Chief Operating Officer of 2seventy bio, Inc. (the “Company”), notified the Company of her intent to resign as Chief Operating Officer of the Company effective as of March 10, 2023. Ms. Heffron’s decision to resign was not due to any disagreement with the Company on any matter, or relating to its operations, policies, or practices.
