31st Annual Baron Investment Conference Draws Over 5,000 Shareholders and Clients
Baron Capital held its 31st Annual Baron Investment Conference today at the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center in New York City. Over 5,000 financial professional clients and shareholders of the 19 Baron Funds attended the conference.
The conference featured presentations by several CEOs of long-time holdings of Baron Funds; updates on the markets and the funds by Baron Capital portfolio managers; a keynote address by Ron Baron, the Chairman, CEO, and Founder of Baron Capital; and a Q&A session with Ron and other senior executives of the Firm.
"Our theme for the 31st Annual Baron Investment Conference is ‘building legacy,'" said Ron. "When I founded this Firm in 1982, I did so with the idea of building legacy, giving middle class Americans the opportunity to participate in this country's growth through investments for their families. We also invest in companies whose leaders are building a legacy of their own such as the exceptional, talented, and visionary executives who spoke at our conference today."
This year's conference featured presentations by:
- Henry A. Fernandez, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MSCI, Inc. (NYSE:MSCI)
- Lee M. Shavel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Verisk Analytics, Inc. (NASDAQ:VRSK)
- Frank J. Fertitta III, Chief Executive Officer, and Lorenzo J. Fertitta, Vice Chairman of the Board of Red Rock Resorts, Inc. (NASDAQ:RRR)
- Gwynne Shotwell, President and Chief Operating Officer of Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX).
The day also included a number of live performances by renowned entertainers, three Tesla Model S electric vehicles as door prizes, and displays featuring Tesla's Optimus humanoid robot.
Baron Capital provides, at its own expense, entertainment in appreciation of the support of its clients and shareholders. Closing out the conference, this year's surprise performer was Michael Bublé, in addition to lunchtime performances by Carrie Underwood, the cast of "Suffs the Musical," and Cynthia Erivo.
