Annual Humana Community Day Expands Nationwide to Deepen Employee Impact in Local Communities
Thousands of Humana employees to volunteer across five key cities, supporting food and nutrition needs, military families, urban green spaces and more.
Humana Inc. (NYSE:HUM) will host its second annual Humana Community Day, on Thursday, Sept. 4, bringing thousands of employees together in a coordinated day of service across the country. This initiative, part of Humana's Community Impact programming, aims to foster a sense of belonging among employees while delivering meaningful support in the communities where they live and work.

Humana employees and the Humana Foundation contribute approximately $51 million per year in volunteer hours, employee donations and Humana Foundation grants to community-based organizations. Humana Community Day reflects Humana's values in action to promote a healthy and thriving environment for employees and community members.
Building on the success of last year's inaugural event in Louisville, Humana is extending this day of service to Ft. Lauderdale, San Antonio, Tampa, and the Arlington/Washington, D.C. area. Volunteers will participate in a wide range of service projects—from assembling healthy meal kits and packages to support military families to supporting local nonprofits focused on health equity and social connection.

Last year's inaugural Humana Community Day saw 6,000 Humana employees volunteering across downtown Louisville, KY to assemble one million meal kits with U.S. Hunger, help clean up Waterfront Park, partner with the Kentucky Waterways Alliance to test for toxins in the Ohio River and invest in their well-being at a nutrition-focused health fair held at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center. Together, employees contributed over 10,000 volunteer hours demonstrating Humana's commitment to its hometown and to fostering connections among employees and their communities.
Building on that momentum, this year's event is expected to engage tens of thousands of employees through in-person and virtual volunteer programming.

On Sept. 4, a range of service projects will take place across key cities addressing nutrition and food insecurity, supporting military families and more. This expanded day of service is made possible through the generosity and collaboration of numerous local and national community partners. A snapshot of these volunteer opportunities include:
Louisville, KY
- Assemble nutrition and care packages at Louisville Slugger Field that will be distributed to non-profit organizations throughout Louisville in partnership with Metro United Way and PackHope.
- Collaborate with local artist Jaylin Monet' Stewart, in partnership with Louisville Visual Art Association, to paint a mural exemplifying the spirit of Humana Community Day on Humana's Brook Street Garage, part of Humana's Waterside campus in downtown Louisville.
- Complete beautification projects with Parks Alliance of Louisville at Alberta O. Jones Park and support continuing cleanup efforts in Waterfront Park from the downtown flooding.
Ft. Lauderdale & Tampa, FL
- Sort and package food items at Feeding South Florida and Feeding Tampa Bay facilities, whose services support over a million Florida residents annually through food pantries, soup kitchens, group homes, shelters, childcare centers, and more.
- Conviva Broward County employees will gather at the Ft. Lauderdale War Memorial to package 100,000 meals with US Hunger to be donated to Feeding South Florida.
San Antonio, TX
- Sort and package food items at the San Antonio Food Bank campus that serves up to 100,000 individuals a week in one of the largest service areas in Southwest Texas. A portion of the food packages will support military families.
Washington, D.C.
- Prepare meals and chop produce at the D.C. Central Kitchen headquarters alongside its staff and members of their culinary training program that will be delivered to schools and other organizations throughout the D.C. area.
