Cboe Canada Welcomes Franklin Templeton for Launch of U.S. Mid-Cap Equities Index ETF
Cboe Canada Inc. ("Cboe Canada") is pleased to announce the launch of a new ETF from Franklin Templeton Canada ("Franklin Templeton"). Now trading on Cboe Canada under the symbol FMID, Franklin U.S. Mid Cap Multifactor Index ETF provides access to mid-capitalization U.S. equities.
The new fund aims to track the performance of LibertyQ U.S. Mid Cap Equity Index – NR (the "Index"). The Index is a systematic, rules-based index designed to select equity securities from an underlying index, Russell Midcap Index – NR, using a multi-factor approach to select equities with quality, value, momentum and low volatility.
"Many investors are concerned about valuations and the concentration of top-weighted stocks in the S&P 500 Index and are seeking to diversify beyond large cap equities that have been the main drivers of the U.S. equity market," said Ahmed Farooq, SVP, head of Retail ETF Distribution, Franklin Templeton Canada. "To help them diversify and access growth potential, FMID invests in established U.S. businesses using a multifactor approach with a focus on high quality and value to help enhance returns over passive U.S. mid-cap indices."
FMID is now trading alongside eight Franklin Templeton ETFs already listed on Cboe Canada. Investors can trade units of all Franklin Templeton ETFs through their usual investment channels, including discount brokerage platforms and full-service dealers.
"Cboe Canada is honoured to be Franklin Templeton's listing venue of choice for the latest addition to their product shelf," remarked Rob Marrocco, Global Head of ETF Listings at Cboe Global Markets. "We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with a likeminded advocate for progress and choice in the Canadian ETF market."
