The study looked at more than 7,500 3D mammograms from women who identified as Asian, Black, Hispanic or white. Researchers found that the measured performance of the algorithm was similar across all cohorts evaluated,⁸ illustrating its ability to deliver results that are not impacted by racial bias. Reducing racial bias in AI algorithms is a growing concern in healthcare.
