Deadpool & Wolverine tops the list of most popular movies, with True Detective (in its fourth season) as the top series. The year's most popular movies showcased a mix of franchise continuations (Dune: Part Two at No. 2, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga at No. 3, and Joker: Folie à Deux at No. 4) and standout original films (The Substance at No. 6, Civil War at No. 7, and Longlegs at No. 10). Debut seasons of streaming series were popular this year, with The Penguin at No. 3, Fallout at No. 4, and Shogun at No. 6.

Sydney Sweeney dominated the IMDbPro STARmeter chart, consistently ranking in the top 10 throughout 2024 and ending the year as the IMDb Most Popular Star. The early-year buzz surrounding rom-com Anyone But You propelled her to stardom and also secured the top Breakout Star spot for her co-star Glen Powell. Powell further captivated audiences with standout roles in Hit Man and Twisters, generating excitement for his upcoming projects, including the TV show Chad Powers and remake of The Running Man. Bridgerton (No. 8) star Nicola Coughlan also made significant waves, landing the No. 2 spot on the Breakout Stars list and ranking No. 7 among the overall most popular stars of the year.
