Item 8.01 Other Events.

On December 16, 2022, Nelnet, Inc. (the “Company”) announced the death of William R. Cintani, member of the Company's Board of Directors. Mr. Cintani passed away on December 10, 2022, at the age of 70. A copy of the press release issued in connection with the announcement is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
