Item 8.01. Other Events.
On November 21, 2024, Newmark Group, Inc. (the “Registrant,” “Newmark,” or the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that its Executive Chairman Howard W. Lutnick has been nominated by President Donald J. Trump to serve as the U.S. Secretary of Commerce and the intention of Mr. Lutnick to step down from his positions with the Company effective upon U.S. Senate confirmation. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated by reference herein.
