    • A first-of-its-kind, purpose-built, all-electric refuse and recycling front-loader vehicle along with AI and electrified technologies that improve refuse and recycling collection in neighborhoods.
    • Autonomous robot designed for on-demand refuse collection to help manage weekly chores.
    • AI-enabled Collision Avoidance Mitigation System (CAMS) for fire and emergency vehicles to provide critical advance notice of an impending collision to first responders.
    • Self-driving vehicles and connected solutions like iOPS® and ClearSky Smart Fleet™ technologies to improve operations at airports and on job sites.

"Technology is only as valuable as the positive impact it has on our lives and within our communities," said John Pfeifer, president and chief executive officer, Oshkosh Corporation. "Oshkosh works closely with customers to design and develop solutions for difficult and challenging jobs– from protecting firefighters to reducing pollution to keeping workers safe at heights and even more routine tasks such as performing weekly chores. Our innovations use AI, autonomy, connectivity and electrification to support a safe, productive, quiet and clean future."

Redefining Neighborhoods with Advanced, Purpose-Built Technology

Oshkosh is redefining neighborhoods by empowering everyday heroes with advanced, purpose-built technologies that support innovation and sustainability. Electrified, route-based fleets are revolutionizing essential services such as last-mile delivery, fire and emergency response and refuse and recycling collection around the globe.

At CES, Oshkosh is expanding its McNeilus® Volterra™ line with the ZFL, an electric front-loader truck for commercial refuse and recycling collection. Built for a full day of work on a single charge, it features an ergonomic design, advanced driver assistance system and telematics for fleet management. Oshkosh also unveiled three new market-leading environmental technologies to complement its McNeilus® refuse vehicle product line:

    • AI-Enabled Bin Detection: Using AI and machine learning, refuse and recycling collection vehicles detect bins, the operator then deploys an electric arm with the push of a button. This helps manage human error and speeds pickups.
    • Electrified Arm: Oshkosh's new electric arm technology enables refuse and recycling vehicles to operate fast, manage noise and save up to 45 minutes per day in operation time to support the service of more households per day.
    • AI-Powered Contamination Detection: Contamination detection technology enables real-time identification of contaminated recyclables using on vehicle on-the-edge processing, enabling real time notification and decision-making ability. Unlike cloud-based systems, which can experience delays and require high data transfer, Oshkosh's on-the-edge processing allows for rapid contaminant detection.

    Self-Driving, On-Demand Refuse Collection

Oshkosh is also pioneering a new way to tackle a weekly chore – taking out the trash. At CES, the company is showcasing a Hail-able Autonomous Refuse Robot – Electric or HARR-E™. HARR-E is an autonomous, electric refuse collection robot that offers on-demand trash and recycling pickup via a smartphone app or virtual at home assistant. Using AI-enabled navigation and advanced sensors, HARR-E autonomously collects waste and returns to a central collection area.

With cutting-edge AI and robotic systems, Oshkosh has developed a prototype system that optimizes efficiency and logistics to complement traditional refuse collection services and redefine day-to-day waste collection for modern, master-planned communities and businesses.

Helping Manage Roadside Risks for First Responders

Oshkosh strives to make a difference in people's lives. Today, first responders take incredible risks every time they respond to a call on an active roadway. More than 250 first responders have died from being struck by a vehicle on the job in the last four years1.

To improve the awareness of first responders and service workers, Oshkosh is featuring a Collision Avoidance Mitigation System (CAMS) – the first system of its kind designed specifically for roadside emergency scenarios. CAMS detects the trajectory, speed and proximity of oncoming vehicles relative to a parked response vehicle by using advanced camera technology with AI, advanced autonomous driving sensors and radar. CAMS provides seconds of advance notice of an impending collision, improving the awareness of everyday heroes during roadside operations. The camera system also records a continuous video feed that supports accident reconstruction and insurance documentation.

Bringing Autonomous-Driving Technology to Airports and Job Sites

Purpose-built, route-based vehicles are well-suited for airports and job sites where predictable routes and repetitive tasks are common.

Leveraging its advanced autonomy stack, Oshkosh is debuting a driverless cargo handler for airports. This fully electric, autonomous vehicle is designed to efficiently transport baggage between designated locations on the airport ramp. Equipped with LiDAR, radars, cameras and cutting-edge sensor perception, as well as object recognition technologies, Oshkosh has developed a purpose-built, fully autonomous solution that addresses the evolving demands of the travel industry.

Oshkosh is also unveiling an interconnected job site ecosystem with smart materials, automated maintenance and seamless workflows. Highlights include:

    • The JLG® Galileo, an all-electric machine combining boom lift and rotating telehandler functions to aid productivity.
    • An Autonomous Mobile Charging Robot (AMCR). This concept brings wireless charging capabilities directly to equipment to help optimize uptime and support accelerated adoption of electrified products through the company's ClearSky Smart Fleet™ technology.

Industrial Technology Designed to Transcend Industries

Oshkosh's advanced, proprietary technologies enable the seamless integration of next-generation solutions across its portfolio of purpose-built vehicles, tailored to meet the specific needs of each application. As a market leader, Oshkosh delivers cutting-edge technology while actively investing in future innovations to continually enhance its capabilities.

This is exemplified by Oshkosh's electrified propulsion system. Oshkosh seamlessly applies this electrification technology across a broad range of vehicles, including fire trucks, refuse and recycling collection vehicles and last-mile delivery solutions, showcasing its ability to innovate and adapt for varied end markets.
