Celebrating Women's History Month with a Transformative Event Focused on Emotional Wellness and Resilience
ATLANTA, March 5, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- This Women's History Month, Spelman College, in collaboration with Peloton and the Steve Fund, is proud to present Restorative Reflections: Emotional Wellness for the Spelman Community, a groundbreaking event designed to inspire, heal, and empower. On March 5, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, the Spelman community will come together for a day of mindfulness, resilience-building, and transformative conversations that celebrate the strength and well-being of women of color.
This isn't just another event—it's a movement. Tailored specifically for the women of Spelman College, a global leader in the education of women of African descent, Restorative Reflections will offer students, faculty, and staff the tools to support them in thriving in a world that often demands too much. Through interactive workshops, thought-provoking discussions, and immersive mindfulness experiences, attendees will explore what it means to cultivate compassion, resilience, and emotional wellness in their personal, academic, and professional lives.

What to Expect: A Day of Transformation
The event will feature an inspiring lineup of activities and speakers designed to ignite change and foster healing:
- Mindfulness & Movement with Peloton: Kick off the day with renowned Peloton Instructor and Spelman alumna, Dr. Chelsea Jackson Roberts, who will guide participants through meditation and stress-management techniques. This session will help attendees center themselves, embrace stillness, and tap into their inner strength.
- Real Talk: A Panel on Emotional Resilience: Moderated by Frances Cloud, Director Counseling Center at Spelman, this candid discussion will feature Dr. Chelsea Jackson Roberts and Shona Pinnock, Peloton's Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, a. They'll dive deep into the challenges women of color face in balancing multiple roles, the importance of self-care, and how to build emotional resilience in the face of adversity. Also joining the panel is Dr. Rae Lundy, a Steve Fund mental health expert and the Director of Counseling Services at Georgia State.
- Empowerment Workshops with the Steve Fund: Led by the Steve Fund mental health experts Dr. Janice Beal and Dr. Rae Lundy, these sessions will tackle critical topics like peer support, breaking the stigma around mental health, and practical strategies for building resilience. These workshops are designed to equip attendees with actionable tools to navigate the unique pressures women of color often face.
