    Nation's third-largest homebuilder delivers over 100 mortgage-free homes to wounded veterans while building meaningful careers for transitioning service members

    PulteGroup honors America's wounded veterans and transitioning service members with action. The nation's third-largest homebuilder has delivered over 100 mortgage-free homes to veterans with service-connected injuries, employs approximately 250 veterans across the company, and maintains a thriving internal business resource group dedicated to supporting those who served.

    This Veterans Day, the homebuilder is highlighting what dedication looks like, and why supporting those who served has become fundamental to the company's identity.

    Building Homes, Changing Lives

    Since 2013, PulteGroup's Built to Honor® program has delivered more than $40 million in mortgage-free homes to over 100 wounded veterans across the country. Veterans whose lives were forever changed by their service. These are men and women dealing with traumatic injuries, lost limbs, PTSD, and other wounds both seen and unseen.

    For Built-to-Honor families, a mortgage-free home means more than just immediate financial relief, it means stability and the freedom to focus on healing rather than housing payments. The ability to build generational wealth instead of battling homelessness. Most importantly, it provides the foundation these heroes need to rebuild their lives alongside their families.

    "This is truly life changing for us, basically like giving a golden ticket to veterans," said U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant Kaia Santana, a 2024 Built to Honor recipient. "[Built to Honor has] elevated our quality of life, and shown that we matter, that our service matters, that our sacrifice means something to somebody and that we are seen and appreciated."

    Veterans Building Careers

    Ian Sheridan and PulteGroup found each other through the Hiring Our Heroes program. A 20-year Army veteran and former special operations service member, Sheridan transitioned from active duty to a procurement agent role in PulteGroup's Raleigh Division in 2024. He's one of the almost 250 self-identified veterans at PulteGroup who came to the company organically or through partnerships like Hiring Our Heroes and the DoD SkillBridge Program, initiatives that help transitioning service members find their footing in civilian careers.

    Sheridan's transition from military to civilian life has been remarkably smooth thanks to PulteGroup. "I don't feel that much like a fish out of water coming from the military working at Pulte," he said. His advice to other transitioning service members? "If there's any member of the Hiring Our Heroes cohort that gets the opportunity, seize on it, absolutely seize on it."

    For Sheridan and hundreds of other veterans at PulteGroup, the company's commitment is felt in the day-to-day culture and in the understanding that military experience brings real value.
