Explanation of Responses:

1. Each Restricted Stock Unit is the economic equivalent of one share of PhaseBio Pharmaceuticals, Inc. common stock and is converted into common stock upon vesting subject to the reporting person's continued service through each such date.

2. These Restricted Stock Units vest in equal one-third amounts on April 1, 2023, 2024, and 2025.

3. The shares subject to the option shall vest in equal monthly installments over 48 months from February 24, 2022, subject to the reporting person's continued service through each such date.
