MECHEL PUBLISHES FIRST SUSTAINABILITY REPORT

Moscow, Russia – December 1, 2022 – Mechel PAO (MOEX: MTLR, NYSE: MTL), one of the leading Russian mining and metals companies, announces publication of its first Sustainability Report for the year 2021.

The Sustainability Report, approved by the company’s Board of Directors, includes information on Mechel Group’s sustainable management activities and key results in 2021. In line with best international practice, the Report was prepared in compliance with international Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards. The Report discloses issues such as Mechel Group’s contribution to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), responsible business principles, social development, environment protection, corporate management and human rights.

The Report is a milestone in the logical development of the company’s practice aimed at transparency in stakeholder engagement. Complementing the company’s financial statements, the Report is designed to cover a wide range of issues that concern shareholders, investors, employees, and other stakeholders.
