Announcement of Additional Strategic Investment in Epic Games, Inc.
Regarding the investment in Epic Games, Inc. (“Epic”) previously announced on July 9, 2020 in the press release entitled “Sony
Announces Strategic Investment in Epic Games, Inc.,” Sony Group Corporation (“Sony”) today announced that it has made an additional strategic investment of 200 million U.S. dollars (the “additional investment”) in Epic through its wholly-owned
subsidiary, Sony Corporation of America.
By strengthening the already close relationship between the two companies through this additional investment, Sony will
further promote efforts across the Sony Group’s businesses to explore collaborative opportunities leading to new value creation, and strive to accelerate business expansion in the area of entertainment.
This additional investment is not anticipated to have a material impact on Sony’s consolidated financial results for the
fiscal year ending March 31, 2022.
