SMC3 (http://www.smc3.com) continues to expand the expertise of its Board of Directors with the appointment of Charlie Prickett, President and Chief Operating Officer at AAA Cooper Transportation, an independent subsidiary of Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings (NYSE:KNX).
ATLANTA, March 16, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- SMC3 (http://www.smc3.com) continues to expand the expertise of its Board of Directors with the appointment of Charlie Prickett, President and Chief Operating Officer at AAA Cooper Transportation, an independent subsidiary of Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings (NYSE:KNX). Prickett brings many years of experience across multiple modes of transportation and related supply chain and logistics services to the SMC3 board.
Prickett joined AAA Cooper Transportation more than two decades ago, and he was named president in 2020. Less than a year later, he successfully navigated the company's merger with Knight-Swift, which created a formidable transportation entity that combines AAA's extensive less-than-truckload (LTL) capabilities with Knight-Swift's established truckload offerings.
"We welcome Charlie to our board of directors and we're excited to gain his perspective about the evolving supply chain transportation industry," said SMC³ President and CEO Andrew Slusher. "Charlie's expertise is vast and deep, as we've seen from his membership in our LTL Best Practices Group. Now, he is bringing that knowledge to SMC³ board of directors as we work to provide leadership guidance and insight into the supply chain challenges and trends ahead. "
Prickett recently led a leadership series discussion at SMC3's Jump Start 2023 conference, providing his outlook from the helm of AAA Cooper. The award-winning company is one of the top 50 largest ground transportation companies in the U.S and was named a Top 100 Trucker by Inbound Logistics in 2022. AAA Cooper provides asset-based multi-regional transportation solutions to the South, Southwest and Midwest. Based in Dothan, Alabama, AAA Cooper has 3,400 transportation tractors, 8,200 trailers and 6,200 total employees.
"I've been involved with SMC³ for many years and I've seen how their technology solutions have propelled the industry forward and their hosted conferences and educational events have helped us all stay ahead of the curve," said Prickett. "I'm thrilled to join the board leadership as we navigate the needs of our dynamic, evolving, and essential industry."
Prickett is a graduate of Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, and is on the advisory board of the Auburn Center for Supply Chain Innovation (CSCI). The Auburn University CSCI serves as a research facility for scholars, students, and external partners to advance knowledge, drive thought leadership, and create practical solutions for supply chain stakeholder communities.
