Trilantic North America Expands Leadership Team

NEW YORK--()--Trilantic North America, a leading private equity firm, announced today that it has expanded its senior leadership team with the promotions of Giulianna Ruiz, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, to Partner, and Christopher Murphy, Principal, to Partner of Business Development, as well as the appointment of Kristin DePlatchett who joins the firm as Partner and Head of Investor Relations.

The additions of these executives bring the senior leadership team to 14 Partners:

Giulianna Ruiz, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, promoted to Partner

Ms. Ruiz joined Trilantic North America as Chief Compliance Officer and Counsel in 2014 and has held the role of General Counsel since 2018, having previously worked in the Private Funds Group at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. She is a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association and serves on the board of La Unidad Latina Foundation, an independent not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing Latino educational achievement. Ms. Ruiz will continue to serve as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Trilantic North America, as well as Chair of the Firm’s ESG Committee. Ms. Ruiz holds a J.D., summa cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law, and a bachelor’s degree from Columbia College, Columbia University.

Christopher Murphy, promoted to Partner of Business Development

Mr. Murphy has been a member of Trilantic North America’s investment team, primarily focused on the energy transition and broader energy sector, since he joined the firm in 2013, and served as a Principal since 2017. He currently serves on the boards of portfolio companies AEGIS Hedging Solutions and Solaris Midstream as a Director, and SemaConnect as a Board Observer. In his new role, Mr. Murphy will focus on developing investment themes and originating new investment opportunities within the energy sector, as well as continuing to provide ongoing portfolio company support at the board level. He joined Trilantic North America with previous experience with The Sterling Group and Jefferies’ Energy Investment Banking Group. He earned an MBA from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, where he was elected an Amos Tuck Scholar, and a bachelor’s degree in history and religion from Dartmouth College.

Kristin DePlatchett, appointed as Partner and Head of Investor Relations

Ms. DePlatchett joins Trilantic North America to lead the firm’s investor relations team. Prior to joining Trilantic North America, she founded and was the Managing Partner of Kraken Capital LLC, which advised institutional investors on private market portfolio construction and provided bespoke consulting services to private market firms. Ms. DePlatchett previously served as a Managing Director at StepStone Group LP (Nasdaq: STEP) and on the investment team at Fort Washington Capital Partners Group. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where she earned a bachelor’s degree in economics with a minor in business administration.
