Results are reported in accordance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles ("GAAP") and are also reported adjusting for certain items ("Non-GAAP"). A reconciliation between GAAP and Non-GAAP operating results is provided at the end of this press release.

Guidance and Outlook

The following guidance is provided for Veeco's first quarter 2022:

Revenue is expected in the range of $145 million to $165 million
GAAP diluted earnings per share are expected in the range of $0.15 to $0.32
Non-GAAP diluted earnings per share are expected in the range of $0.28 to $0.44

The above issued guidance takes into account the impact of the adoption of ASU 2020-06, effective January 1, 2022, which includes the reduction of non-cash interest expense for GAAP purposes, and the calculation of diluted earnings per share using the if-converted method for both GAAP and non-GAAP purposes.
