Innovative Eyewear, Inc. (NASDAQ:LUCY) announced the launch of its LUCY Bixby app, which enables hands-free OpenAI’s ChatGPT access on its glasses.
For the first time, Samsung Electronics Co (OTC:SSNGY) (OTC:SSNLF) phone users gain access to the feature of ChatGPT on its glasses through the phone’s built-in voice assistant.
Now, all Bixby users can interact with ChatGPT through Lucyd eyewear paired with their Samsung device or directly on the device itself.
The company anticipates this voice-controlled access to AI features will enhance utilities like real-time translations and comprehensive research for Samsung phone and tablet users across various subjects.
“We are also excited about the potential of using our glasses in tandem with Samsung’s forthcoming smart ring1 to deliver health and exercise data through our eyewear,” Harrison Gross, CEO of Innovative Eyewear, said.
“This could allow customers to learn about their health status and exercise metrics without having to look at a phone or smartwatch,” Gross added.
Last month, Innovative Eyewear’s shares climbed after the company announced the launch of its Eddie Bauer Smart Eyewear collection, which also includes voice access to OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
“By introducing the first-ever rimless smart eyewear, we believe we are not only elevating style but also redefining the possibilities of wearable technology,” Gross said earlier.
Price Action: LUCY shares are trading lower by 11.1% to $0.4490 at last check Thursday.
