Zai Lab Receives U.S. FDA Fast Track Designation for ZL-1310, a DLL3-Targeted Antibody-Drug Conjugate, for Treatment of Extensive-Stage Small Cell Lung Cancer

Zai Lab Limited (NASDAQ:ZLAB, HKEX: 9688)) today announced the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted Fast Track designation to ZL-1310, the Company's potential first-in-class Delta-like ligand (DLL3) antibody-drug conjugate (ADC), for the treatment of extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC). ZL-1310, which is being evaluated in an ongoing global Phase 1a/1b clinical trial (NCT06179069), previously received an Orphan Drug designation for SCLC from the FDA. The company will present updated data at the 2025 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting.

Fast Track designation facilitates the expedited development and review of new drugs to address an unmet medical need or treat serious or life-threatening diseases. DLL3 is an antigen overexpressed in many neuroendocrine tumors, such as SCLC, and is often associated with poor clinical outcomes. ZL-1310 comprises a humanized anti-DLL3 monoclonal antibody connected via a cleavable linker to a novel camptothecin derivative (a topoisomerase 1 inhibitor) as its payload. The compound was designed with a novel ADC technology platform called TMALIN®, which leverages the tumor microenvironment to overcome challenges associated with first-generation ADC therapies.
