scPharmaceuticals Announces Filing Acceptance Of sNDA From The FDA Seeking To Expand FUROSCIX Indication To Include Chronic Kidney Disease
scPharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:SCPH) (the "Company"), a pharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing products that have the potential to optimize the delivery of infused therapies, advance patient care, and reduce healthcare costs, today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has accepted for filing the Company's Supplemental New Drug Application (sNDA) seeking to expand the FUROSCIX indication to include treatment of edema due to fluid overload in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The FDA has assigned a Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA) target action date of March 6, 2025.
In Type D meeting feedback provided by the FDA last year, the agency confirmed that no additional clinical studies would be needed to expand the indication, provided that the Company is able to demonstrate an adequate pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) bridge to the listed drug, furosemide injection, 10 mg/mL.
